At the first edition of the National Congress of Romanian Historians, held in Cluj between 25 and 28 August 2016, there were presented four studies exclusively based on data from HPDT. In this way, our database already proves its value for research in the history of the population of Transylvania. Moreover, due to it՚ s complexity, the researchers can perform sophisticated statistical analysis for the first time in this area. The presenters were Luminita Dumanescu & Oana Sorescu-Iudean, “Aspects of marriage in Transylvania in the second half of the XIXth century”, Raluca-Sorina Botos ”Kinship. Relations between parents and children, relationships between stepbrothers. Case Study: Orşova (Mures) 1907 “; Daniela Marza, “Rhythms of death in the modern era Transylvania (mortality information contained in HPDT)”; Izabela Giorgiana Coroian, “Seasonal mortality in three communities in Transylvania (1887-1912)”.
