HPDT at Umeå, Sweden (EHPS-Net Meeting Working Group 6 / Database workshop)

Between 16-18 February 2016, our colleagues, Mihaela Hărăguş PhD, and Bogdan Crăciun PhD, participated in a workshop dedicated to databases under construction, organized by the Centre for Demographic and Ageing Research (CEDAR), at the University of Umeå. During this workshop, our colleagues presented HPDT, and discussed the difficulties rised by its construction. Our colleagues emphasized, once again, what makes it so challenging to build this database: the vast ethnic and confessional diversity of Transylvania, and uneven quality of preserved sources. This workshop was organized within the framework of the European Network Historical Population Samples (EHPS-Net), to whom the Centre for Population Studies is affiliated.
